Next Up | Brad Singleton's Testimonial
Next up for the Rhinos, preparations for the 2026 season continue as Leeds head to The OneBore Stadium to take on Yorkshire rivals Castleford Tigers in Brad Singleton's Testimonial match, kick off 3pm.
Here is your match preview:
Sunday's Opposition
A seventh coaching change in three years at the Tigers sees Ryan Carr return to the UK to inspire Castleford back to Play Off contention after a seven-year wait.
The former South Sydney player carved out a coaching career following a career-ending injury, as he went on to be part of the coaching staffs at the Rabbitohs, Sharks, Dragons and the Mounties NSW Cup side. Not to mention he also served as assistant coach to Leeds boss Brad Arthur with Parramatta in 2022.
His experience in the UK game came during an impressive spell in 2019 when he brought Featherstone Rovers within 80 minutes of a Super League berth, and helped the Rhinos dispel any chance of relegation as part of Richard Agar's staff. Now he's back to do a job with the Tigers, who are aiming to improve on and off the field.
Coming off the back of a first run out of the new year in a trial clash against Oldham last week, Castleford fans have a chance to see how Carr's new-look side shapes up against Super League opposition over the next fortnight as Leeds and St Helens provide tests before the Challenge Cup rounds begin at the start of February. Whilst ten players from the 2025 roster have departed, Director of Rugby Chris Chester has worked fast to bring quality players into the fold to go with the likes of Joe Stimson, Chris Atkin and the testimonial man Brad Singleton, who all arrived throughout the 2025 campaign.
Notable inclusions are wing pair Mikaele Rivalawa and Semi Valemei, who have 90 NRL tries between them, hard-working forward Jordan Lane from Hull, and 22-year-old half-back Tom Weaver who broke on the scene with Gold Coast in 2023. Homegrown talents Jason Qareqare, Fletcher Rooney and Jenson Windley could also be in for big seasons as notable names for the future in black and amber.

Singleton & Leeds
Cumbrian-born Singleton made his Super League name at Leeds after breaking through the Academy ranks at the Rhinos from 2011 before going on to make nearly 200 appearances in blue and amber.
It wasn't until 2013 that the prop started making regular appearances under Brian McDermott, but 2015's Treble season proved to be a particular standout year. Playing 34 out of 36 games and scoring nine tries, he was a try scorer in his first Wembley appearance as the club retained the Challenge Cup, and also appeared in the starting teams that won the League Leaders' Shield against Huddersfield and Grand Final trophy against Wigan.

He stuck with Leeds for four more seasons, lifting another Super League trophy in 2017 with victory over his current club Castleford. Concluding his nine-season stay at Headingley with 178 total appearances and 20 tries, he later moved on to Toronto and Wigan in 2020 before pulling on Salford and Tigers colours more recently.
